Charles W. Shabica, Ph.D., P.G. — President Dr. Charles Shabica founded Shabica & Associates in 1984 with the purpose of designing and engineering sustainable, environmentally-sensitive shore protection systems. Charlie strongly believes that all projects must produce positive results, not only for the client, but also for their neighbors and for the environment.
Jon Shabica — Vice President With an extensive background in marketing and strategic planning from General Electric, Jon manages sales, business development, partner relations and the creative aspects of Shabica & Associates. Jon’s expertise is communicating with the client to fully understand their desires for their lakefront or ravine, thus maximizing the benefits of the project. Outside of the office, Jon is a dedicated outdoorsman, enjoys sailing and is a Scout Master.
Stefanie Nagelbach, CPESC — Managing Director Stefanie has been designing sustainable shorelines for the past 13 years. As part of this process, she incorporates coastal engineering to help assure long-term stability of the design. Stefanie also has an invaluable knowledge of governmental regulations, from municipal to state and federal, that facilitates all aspects of permits for Shabica & Associates’ projects. Stefanie is a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) and an approved Lake County (Illinois) Designated Erosion Control Inspector (DECI).
Stephen Vale Cofer-Shabica, Ph.D. — Coastal Scientist Dr. Stephen Cofer-Shabica coordinates operations for the Charleston, South Carolina office. Stephen has over 25 years of experience in coastal environmental research and consulting as a research oceanographer and resource manager with the federal government.
Melissa Bach — Office Manager As Office Manager, Melissa is in charge of billing and bookkeeping. In addition to helping manage the day-to-day operations of Shabica & Associates, she also assists in preparing permit applications and reports. |
